OWNERS of electric cars have reported instantly regretting buying their vehicles for a number of reasons.

But a new survey in France has revealed more than half of owners of an EV now wish they had made a different decision.
Many buyers have doubts over their purchase, according to the study by Monta, in collaboration with analysis consultancy YouGov.
Some 54 per cent of owners of electric vehicles admitted they regretted their EV because of the uptick in electricity costs, according to the survey.
The cost-of-living crisis has meant electric bills across Europe have doubled in just three years.
Other factors included a lack of transparency of the true costs of owning an EV.
Owners said it often means the customer only discovers the real price of charging once the process is completed.
Respondents also cited difficulty finding out where the best rates are available.
And they were also unhappy they had to download various apps due to a fragmented market.
The European Union wants at least 30 million electric cars on the roads by 2030.
However, the mass adoption of EVs still faces major obstacles.
Many drivers are discouraged from buying electric cars due to range anxiety and generally being more expensive to buy than regular petrol and diesel cars.
From 2030 no new petrol or diesel cars will be sold in the UK.
But big brands such as Tesla and other electric vehicles have faced growing criticism since they emerged onto the market over recent years.
Many EV owners have complained about their cars breaking down on journeys due to issues with the battery that powers the car.
Meanwhile, camping in remote locations could pose problems when trying to charge an electric vehicle.
It comes after a woman revealed her EV had left her in tears.
Johanna, from Canada, said she hadn’t been able to find a place to charge her car and only had 48kms left until she ran out of juice.
And a motors expert who took an EV on a 300-mile road trip in Finland revealed the two things he absolutely hated.
Meanwhile, another driver opened up about his nightmare journey after his holiday was ruined by their EV.
