A source close to Harry told Deadline that he would not stream the show because of the “sensitive nature” of the storyline.
Harry is not thought to have any ill feeling towards Netflix over The Crown.
He once joked during an appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert that he checks the series with a pen and paper.
Royal expert Jennie Bond slammed the show – branding Season 6 “tasteless and cruel” in a brutal review.
She exclusively told The Sun: “I think The Crown should have ended with the last series. The death of Diana is simply too recent.
“If people want to know what happened, they can look at the news reports of the time.
“How would anyone feel about having their mother’s final, difficult days dramatised?”
Jennie added: “I think it must be incredibly hurtful for both William and Harry.
“The single most traumatic, dramatic and tragic event in their lives – the death of their mother – is now a drama to be enjoyed by millions.”
Later in the series, Diana’s ghost appears to the Queen and delivers a chilling message.
The ghost says: “You’ve taught us what it means to be British.
“Maybe it’s time to show you’re ready to learn, too.”
These are the seven most controversial moments from The Crown season 6 – sparking fresh anguish for royals.
