Kayla Balland (@kaylaballand) filmed the decor in a video posted to TikTok.

“I’m going to show you guys how I did my viral light in hallway. So first things first, these are not battery operated, they plug in,” she said.

“And I do have them plugged into an extension cord,” she added.

She specified that she plugs the extension cord into a spare room, letting it run into the hallway.

“Next, how do I get these attached to the ceiling? So we used these clear thumbtacks and literally just push them right up into the ceiling and tacked them at every point,” she said.

“So we chose to go in this zigzag formation here, and then literally tapped it at every single point to make it nice and tight and get this effect right here,” she added.

She also cleared the air regarding which lights she uses for the effect.

“A lot of questions for the link to the lights that we used. Honestly, we got them a few years ago. This is our second or third year putting these up.

“So I’m not 100 percent positive if these are the exact ones, but they are extremely similar. They have a mode, so you don’t have to have them twinkling, that’s just what I prefer.

“And they are currently on Amazon right now for $23.99,” she said of the Jmexsuss 300 LED lights.

“And lastly, there were a lot of comments from you guys saying that their husbands are never going to do that and it’s extremely difficult for them,” she said.

“I am telling you. This took my fiancé all of 10 minutes.

“The hardest part is getting those damn tacks into the ceiling. And it’s so worth it. It comes out so pretty, so magical,” she added.

The video drew in many comments, with one viewer writing: “I just gasped and my husband immediately said: ‘no.’”
