Hayley (@hayleys_lottie_haven) shared the gardening advice in a viral Instagram video.

She told those who struggled to get their seeds to germinate or simply had very little room to fret not.

All you’d need, she revealed, is a plastic container or a bead storage box.

“Add some damp kitchen roll, sprinkle the seeds on the surface, place somewhere light, and watch the magic happen!” she wrote.

“Once germinated you can then invest in planting them into some compost and giving them precious windowsill space.”

Hayley grabbed a bead storage box, removed the plastic inserts, and placed a wet paper towel on the bottom.

Once the towel was in place, she replaced the plastic inserts and dropped various seeds into one of the dozen slots.

Once the seeds found a home in her box, she closed the lid, labeled the seeds on the box, and placed the box in an area with plenty of sunlight.

Within a few days, her seedlings had sprouted roots and were ready to be put into the ground.

Hayley revealed that the trick worked on her beetroot, sweat pea, and leek seeds.

Gardeners at all levels were impressed with her handy hack.

One was excited that the tip allowed them to re-purpose an old possession.

“These remind me of all the pony beads I used to craft with!” they said.

“Seeds are the new beads for people in their mid-thirties!”

“Ten out of ten post. Hayley for president!”

“What a brilliant idea! This is really breakthrough gardening,” said a third.

“I will definitely be trying it. As someone already said, far too much compost goes to waste.”

One commenter took the trick a step further and revealed how they germinated seeds without the need for a box.

“I start my seeds in a similar fashion except I take the moist paper towels with the seeds inside, put them in a Ziploc bag, and tape them to my window,” they revealed.

“It only takes a week if you do it right. There are microplastics all around us, in our clothes, water, and cooking ware.

“We have way more things to worry about than how we germinate our seeds.”
