Aggressive Manchester United star Ibrahimovic an eye-opener for Reds team-mates

Zlatan Ibrahimovic‘s aggression is not just reserved for match day – Manchester United‘s Swedish hitman is relentless even in training.

But his Old Trafford colleagues love him for it.

Jose Mourinho‘s summer free agent coup refuses to allow his Reds team-mates to let up even on a daily basis at the club’s training complex.

He has just celebrated his 35 birthday and has been on a 17-year glamour club trip around Europe with an impressive medal collection to show for it.

But Ibrahimovic won’t slow down.

Midfielder Ander Herrera has paid tribute to the birthday boy saying: “He’s unbelievable. He doesn’t lose one training session. He trains every day at his best trying to get everyone at their highest level.

“He is very, very aggressive and demanding but in a good way because every day he wants to win every training session and he wants everyone with him to win to keep working so we are very lucky to have Zlatan with us.

“If you see a game and you didn’t know Zlatan’s age you could think he was only 28 or 29 and that is good for us.

“You see the way he behaves. The way he trains even before the session, he is always stretching, taking care of his body, so that is the way a professional player has to behave.

“When I was not in a top team I used to admire these kind of players and I wanted to be one of them one day, being at Man Utd eight or nine season, but it is not easy.

“He’s an example for every one of us not just the young players. I am not young, not old, I’m in the middle at 26 and he is an example for me as well. When you behave as a professional you can be at a top club at 35.”

Herrera lists Ibrahimovic as one of the most inspirational players he has ever played with.

“Yes, of course, he is but I cannot forget Wayne Rooney as well. He’s a top player, he’s the same as Zlatan in every training session. Michael Carrick as well.

“But Zlatan is right now the highest example because he’s the oldest in the squad (playing regularly). I certainly wish I was elastic as he is!”
