An Alton Towers rollercoaster broke down trapping six people
Thrillseekers were trapped on the 56ft Spinball Whizzer for nearly an hour.
Shocking pictures show technicians wearing harnesses as they scale the rollercoaster to reach people.
Terrified passengers can be seen as they are helped out of the cars that are suspended on the tracks.

The ride, designed to make riders feel like they’re a spinball, spins 360 degrees while racing around a 1,504ft track.
It is understood six terrified riders were stuck aboard the ride at the theme park in Staffordshire.

Alton Towers riders look on as workers help to free them
Disgruntled punters took to Twitter to complain about the broken down rides.
One side: “Not worth the money today. Sort your rides out. Scarefest? More like queue for broken rides fest. #altontowers #scarefest
Another said: “@altontowers having an absolute shocker today, if you’re thinking of coming don’t bother as rides breaking down all day #altontowers”

Workers free the six trapped riders
It comes just over a year after the infamous Smiler accident which left five people seriously injured.
The owners, Merlin Attractions Limited, were fined £5million following the horror accident which left two teenagers needing leg amputations.
