The UKIP leader and Brexiteer believes the bombastic billionaire has engaged previously disinterested and disenfranchised voters.
Mr Farage, who has been hugely critical of Hillary Clinton, claims like the campaign to leave the EU – Mr Trump has enticed new people into politics.
Speaking on his LBC show, Mr Farage said: “I did share a platform with him in Mississippi a few weeks ago.
“I was there to talk about Brexit and possible crossover with the American elections and what struck me meeting the audience afterwards was the sheer numbers of them, that had never voted in their lives.
“They saw Trump as being the big fight back against an establishment that had got too rich, too powerful and was ignoring their views and to me it’s what I’ve thought, ever since then, that whatever the opinion polls say they may well be wrong.

“After all they were wrong about Brexit. When it went on the day of that referendum a respected pollster put the Remain side ten points in the lead.”
The passionate Brexiteer continued: “What I am also picking up around the states that tens of millions of people are registering to vote who have never voted before and I’m guessing that quite a few of those maybe on Trump’s side.”
He later added: “I have to say that many Trumpites remind me of the early devotees of Ukip… I think what Trump has got going for him is he has got passion.
“His voters have got energy. The fact that every night 20,000 people our turning out to hear this guy speak across America.
“The fact he is dominating social media, the fact that they will forgive him for virtually anything he says because they don’t care – they hate Hillary!
