Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un have both
arrived in Singapore, ahead of tomorrow’s historic meeting to
discuss denuclearisation of the Korean peninsula and a possible
formal end to the Korean War.

North Korean state media said today that Trump and Kim would
talk about a “permanent and durable peace-keeping mechanism” on the
Korean peninsula.

State-run newspaper Rodong Sinmun
also suggested that the meeting will “establish a new relationship
to meet the changing demands of the new era”.

The BBC says the comments are “a marked shift in tone from
the isolated country after decades of animosity towards the
US”.

The Guardian reports that Kim “was accompanied
by his foreign minister Ri Yong Ho, defence minister No Kwang Chol
and sister Kim Yo Jong”, and that the trip is only Kim’s third
known journey outside North Korea since he took power in 2011.
