Less than a month into the job, the Duchess of Sussex is already
challenging royal protocol with her fashion choice at this
weekend’s Trooping the Colour parade.

“The 36-year-old tore up the royal rule book by wearing an
off-the-shoulder dress when she made her debut appearance on the
famed Buckingham Palace balcony at the official ceremony to mark
the Queen’s 92nd birthday,” says the Daily Express.
Meghan’s peach Carolina Herrera gown looked “stunning”, says the
newspaper, but was deemed “too revealing” for the ceremony.
“Despite baring her shoulders at Trooping the Colour, Meghan
looked every bit as regal as her sister-in-law, Kate Middleton, who
wore a pale blue ensemble. Prince Harry’s wife is just doing things
her way,” says Harper’s Bazaar.
For her seventh Trooping the Colour, the Duchess of Cambridge
wore a custom-made Alexander McQueen suit, topped with a Juliette
Botterill hat, embellished with flowers.
Despite their different directions in style at the weekend, both
women certainly have one thing in common: their wardrobe choices
often sell out in an instant after a public appearance.
The Week takes a look at some of the Duchesses’ top style
choices in the gallery above.
