Gary Neville believes a strike partnership of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Marcus Rashford could be Manchester United ‘s best option.
Manager Jose Mourinho dropped captain Wayne Rooney against Leicester on Saturday, with young gun Rashford partnering Ibrahimovic to good effect.
The teenager scored the third of United’s four goals as the Reds clicked in the absence of the England forward – and Neville is a fan of the young-and-old combination.
“Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Marcus Rashford seem to be a fit,” he told Sky Sports .
“Ibrahimovic is clever enough to find the runs of Rashford. Rashford is clever. He isn’t just a runner and a finisher.
“Those two could eventually end up playing together.”
Mourinho on Wednesday confirmed Ibrahimovic would start against Zorya Luhansk on Thursday.
But he refused to say whether Rooney would win a return to the side for the Europa Cup clash.
