Jeff Hordley has explained why Emmerdale sought to keep Holly Barton’s devastating death a secret until it was aired in last night’s harrowing episode. The actor, who plays Cain Dingle in the soap, pondered that he feels the biggest storylines in soap should be held back in order to preserve the element of surprise for viewers.
Appearing on Loose Women to discuss the storyline development, he also had high praise for the show’s press team for ensuring that the outcome was not ruined in advance by leaks.
He said: ‘We just wanted to keep it under wraps because it’s an important story to tell.’
