Gary Linker and Lily Allen were spotted at the London rally

Demonstrators lined the streets of cities across the UK, including Birmingham, Glasgow, Newcastle and Cardiff – waving banners and placards against the immigration ban.

In London, thousands of activists gathered outside Downing Street in response to The President’s executive order preventing citizens of seven predominantly Muslim countries entering the US for 90 days.

But it wasn’t just members of the public up in arms over the travel ban as high-profile celebrities Lily Allen and human rights activist Bianca Jagger also sporting banners at the rallies.

And Match of the Day presenter Gary Lineker was also snapped at one event, attending with sons Harry and George.

Thousands attended marches across the country

The former England striker was spotted among the sea of faces that descended on Whitehall, near Downing Street, this evening.

As the crowds stretched back down to the Houses of Parliament, Lineker posted a picture to his Instagram feed.

The caption read: “Well played London.”

Singer Lily Allen also posted a picture of herself on Twitter of herself at the march in London.

She captioned the image: “Can’t even see a stage NGL (Not Going to Lie)”

Ms Allen also posted a picture of the crowds using hashtag #LondonStandsWithMuslims.

President Trump signed an executive order banning immigration to the USA from seven ‘muslim’ countries. This led to protests across America and, now, the UK.

While Ms Jagger – ex-wife of Rolling Stones frontman Mick – tweeted today: “We must send a clear message to #TheresaMay: our democratic values are not for sale #ResistTrump”.

Even former US president Barack Obama has voiced his support and encouragement for the protests.

A statement released by his office read: “President Obama is heartened by the level of engagement taking place in communities around the country.
