Theresa May’s National Security Advisor QUITS after ‘interrupting the PM during a meeting’

A source claimed the former ambassador to the UN interrupted the Prime Minister during a meeting at Downing Street.

No 10 is understood to be irritated at male politicians, officials, diplomats and even journalists who talk over, patronise or fail to listen to the prime minister or her team.

The old Etonian previously visited Downing Street for an alleged telling off as May claimed she was fed up with the manner he deployed after talking over her in a meeting.

A source told the Times: “I maintain eye contact, ensure I only offer what’s wanted and definitely do not talk over them to avoid causing offence. We are being very careful.”

It is also claimed that Sir Mark did not hit it off with President Donald Trump during a recent visit to Washington and irritated the leader with his manner.

The role will be filled by Mark Sedwill, who attended a grammar school and previously worked alongside May in his role as Permanent Secretary to the Home Office.

Another Times source had a warning for other public school employers who remain around Westminster from the Cameron era.
