A former football agent slashed his wife’s sofa with a kitchen knife because he thought she loved it more than him.
Peter Harrison, 57, had been warned not to contact Wendy after their relationship broke down.
But he burst into the house after pushing part his son, grabbed a 10 inch knife and began to stab the sofa saying that she loved it more.
In fear of what might happen next, his son and daughter barricaded themselves in a bedroom.
A court heard he had previously sent messages to his estranged wife including threats to burn down the house and have them kicked out.
