Paola Peredes, 31, enlisted her parents – and got them to pose as potential clients, wanting to ‘cure’ their daughter, to get an insight into the secretive facilities.

The clinics pose as drug and alcohol treatment centres, Peredes says – but in reality, serve a much darker purpose.

Peredes helped set up a crowdfunding campaign to battle against such clinics.
