It overbalanced onto a former Primark store. 
A huge crane has collapsed onto buildings in Reading town centre.
The 200 ft high piece of equipment has caused chaos after smashing onto the roof of the former Primark shop on the high street which converted to offices last year.
Police warned people to avoid the area around West Street as roads are closed to try and deal with the accident.
Nobody was reported injured but shops and houses nearby were evacuated as a precaution.
It is believed to have overbalanced while stationed in the high street, with photos from the scene showing it lean against the top of the building.
