It’s even longer than ‘floccinaucinihilipilification’.

No longer the wordiest (Picture: PA)

A 16-year-old boy has beaten Jacob Rees-Mogg as the person to say the longest ever word in parliament.

Michael Bryan, who will start A Levels in September, casually busted out the 45-letter ‘pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis’ during a Youth Select Committee meeting earlier this month.

And he could be equalled by others but not surpassed, given this word is the longest in the dictionary.

Unfortunately for Michael, however, the record remains with the MP’s use of 29-letter floccinaucinihilipilification in 2012.

Only words spoken in official parliamentary business are recorded in Hansard.
