Barack Obama’s anti-racism tweet after the riots has become the most liked in Twitter history.

The ex-President posted a photo four days ago of him smiling with children of all races in Maryland.

Last night it had 3.6m likes and 1.4m retweets.

Quoting Nelson Mandela, he wrote: “No one is born hating another person because of the color of his skin, background or religion… people must learn to hate, and if they can learn to hate, they can be taught to love…

“For love comes more naturally to the human heart than its opposite.”
