Hefner bought crypt beside Playboy pin-up Marilyn Monroe

Bunny porn king Hugh Hefner is to spend eternity lying next to
Playboy’s first pin-up girl Marilyn Monroe.

Hefner, who died at 91, reportedly bought the crypt next to the
“Gentlemen Prefer Blondes” star in 1992 for
$75,000 (£56,000). Westwood Village Memorial Park
Cemetery in Los Angeles is also the resting place of Dean Martin,
Natalie Wood and Truman Capote, People magazine reports.

While Marilyn may have been a celebrated Playboy centerfold,
she’d never ever met Hefner, photographer Lawrence
Schiller recalled in a 2012 Vanity Fair article.

Hefner told CBS Los Angeles she’d died before he moved
to California, but he planned to spend the “rest of my eternity
with Marilyn” because his choice had a “completion notion” to
it.

Hefner likened his life to a romantic film starring
“an ageless sophisticate in silk pajamas and smoking jacket hosting
a never-ending party for famous and fascinating people”,
The New York Times says.

He is survived by his wife, Crystal Harris, who signed
an ironclad pre-nup before their 2012 wedding and, US magazine says, stands to inherit
“nothing”.
