Mohamed Salah is set for what The Sun describes as a “double-your-money deal”
as Liverpool look to buy his loyalty.

The Egyptian ace has been on fire this season with his 43 goals
a key contribution in their quest to become champions of Europe.
But his form has aroused the interest of several of the continent’s
big hitters, with the Sun claiming Real Madrid in particular are
“on alert”.

Spooked by such speculation, Liverpool bigwigs are
apparently ready “to open talks over a £185,000-a-week
offer”.

The 25-year-old Salah is currently on a modest
£90,000-a-week deal, and that’s said to be peanuts in comparison to
what he could earn at the likes of Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain or
Barcelona. Mindful of what happened to Luis Suarez and Philippe
Coutinho, the Reds are determined to avoid the departure of another
star name and so negotiations will shortly begin to tie down Salah
to a lucrative long-term deal.

He has four years to run on his existing contract and the
Sun says that Liverpool want to conclude the new deal before the
World Cup “when his value could increase even more”.

At the heart of the talks will be Salah’s agent, Ramy
Abbas Issa, a lawyer who is a long-standing friend of the Egyptian.
The pair are “happy with Anfield” and Liverpool are quietly
confident that negotiations will be concluded to everyone’s
satisfaction with the coming weeks.

But what if Real Madrid offered the Reds Gareth Bale in return
for Salah and a stack-load of cash? The Daily Star believe this might be in the Spanish
club’s plans with the paper claiming that Real president Florentino
Perez “wants to sell Bale to Liverpool” rather than letting the
28-year-old Welshman end up at either Manchester United or
Chelsea.
