against Nigeria in Volgograd.
World Cup group D: Croatia beat Nigeria and Iceland
draw with Argentina
The Daily Telegraph reports that Iceland winger
Johann Berg Gudmundsson is likely to miss the game after tearing a
muscle against Argentina.
Speaking to Fifa.com, Iceland boss Heimir Hallgrimsson
confirmed: “It is very unlikely that Jói [Gudmundsson] will play.
But he’s getting better every day, and is in good hands.”
Gylfi Sigurdsson came into the tournament as a major
injury doubt but Hallgrimsson says the Everton star is
“100% fit and ready to play”.
Nigeria lost their opening group D clash against Croatia and
could make changes against Iceland. The BBC reports that vice-captain Ogenyi Onazi and forward
Ahmed Musa could be named in the side.
Meanwhile, Complete Sports Nigeria reports that head coach
Gernot Rohr may play a three-man defence against Iceland.
