Oscar-nominated actress Olivia Colman has revealed she ‘lost jobs’ over the 2004 Kev and Bev AA adverts.

Calling the advert ‘the bane of my life’, Olivia – who is an awards hopeful for her role in The Favourite – claimed that the advert ended up being ‘really annoying’ and left her being typecast.

In the advert, the pair are seen driving an old banger before they see a different version of themselves pull up alongside them.

The new Kev and Bev look more upmarket – with Bev wearing a suit – and they reveal they had taken out a car loan with AA which allowed them to be driving a top of the range car.

‘AA! That has become the bane of my life. I thought they were going to run that for about a week but they ran it for what felt like four times a day for a year,’ Olivia told The Mirror.

‘They ran it for a year having just given me a buy-out, It was really annoying. I lost some jobs.’

Olivia revealed this week that she is in fact 44 and not 52 like we were once led to believe.

The actress laughed off a long-running struggle to get Wikipedia to correct her age this week after the online encyclopedia accidentally made her eight years older.

Olivia hilariously explained how she emailed the fact-sharing site pretending to be an old school friend to get the birth date changed, but failed miserably.

The actress told pal David Tennant on his new podcast this week: ‘Once, on Wikipedia, they had my birthday as the wrong day, the wrong month, and eight years before I was born.

‘I emailed them, pretending it wasn’t me. [I wrote] “I was at school with her and that’s not her birthday.” I didn’t want them to think I was being so vain.’

After two failed attempts, the actress recalls writing a third email: ‘So I said, “Actually, this is me, and it’s really upsetting me that you’ve made me eight years older than I actually am.”‘
