And it looks like 2019 could be the year of pictures of Pete Davidson holding Kate Beckinsale’s hand while leaving Los Angeles hotspots.
Yep, we’re as confused as you are.
Weeks after initial reports of an unlikely friendship between the stars, Pete, 25, and Kate, 45, have sparked further romance rumours by holding hands while leaving Davidson’s comedy show.

The Saturday Night Live star left his late-night stand-up show at the Largo at the Coronet in LA looking rather pleased with himself, as he was followed into a waiting car by Underworld actress Kate.
Pete, dressed in a blue sweatshirt and sucking on a straw, gave a cheeky smile at waiting photographers while Kate seemed more keen to go unnoticed.
The actress – who has a 20-year-old daughter Lily with ex Michael Sheen – held a hand over her face as she followed behind Pete, wrapped up in a stylish houndstooth coat.
The pair slipped into the back seat of a waiting car before driving off – leaving us equally baffled and intrigued.
Romance rumours first started swirling back in January after Kate and Pete were seen chatting at a Golden Globes afterparty hosted by Netflix.
A source told E! News: ‘She was very flirty with him and there were definitely some vibes going on. Pete was smiling and laughing with her and she was all about him.’
However, they didn’t leave the bash together, and Kate later poked fun at the rumours after someone commented on a picture of her mother she shared on Instagram: ‘Dear heavens, Kate. Not Pete Davidson’; Beckinsale replied: ‘No that’s my mother. Easy mistake.’
Kate, who has just left hospital after being treated for a ruptured ovarian cyst, was previously married to director Len Wiseman from 2004 until 2016, and was in a relationship with Michael Sheen from 1995 until 2003.
Most recently, she has been linked to comedian Matt Rife, 23, and Jack Whitehall, 30 – the latter, she was spotted kissing in November.
Meanwhile, Pete split from fiancee Ariana Grande in October, just four months after they got engaged and five months after they started dating.
The comedian was previously in a relationship with Cazzie David.
