THE KREMLIN is “considering imposing martial law” on its own citizens.
The European Union today said it had “seen signs online” that Russia could introduce martial law in the country.
Rumours the Kremlin would impose tough military rule on its own citizens began to circulate this week after officials clamped down on independent outlets reporting the Russian invasion.
An EU official told Reuters: “As is the tragic loss of young lives killed in the military conflicts, with Russian mothers having to learn about the loss of their sons.
“So it is something we’re conscious of. And it’s something we’re worried about.”
The European Union has suggested that the Kremlin was considering nuclear war and said Moscow would press on with its military operation in Ukraine.
At a morning press conference, Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has said they will do so until ‘the end’.
Lavrov also said: “I would like to point out that it’s in the heads of Western politicians that the idea of a nuclear war is spinning constantly, and not in the heads of Russians.”
Earlier this morning, Ukraine’s president Volodymyr Zelensky claimed 9,000 Russian troops have been killed by Russian troops.
