A BANNED motorist who legally changed his name to The Joker has been jailed after he was found guilty of deceiving the DVLA.
Lee Roberts made headlines last year by pretending to be his unwitting twin brother to avoid being prosecuted for being behind the wheel.

The 40-year-old was jailed for 16 months in May last year when he was caught driving, despite not having a valid licence since being banned in 2001.
Chester Crown Court heard that police who stopped him in November 2020 found that he had duped the DVLA to obtain a licence in his brother’s name.
Today, he was jailed for six months at Warrington Magistrates Court after admitting dangerous driving – using his new legal name The Joker.
On the court’s list Roberts appeared under his evil alias who is best known as the eternal DC comic book nemesis to Batman and Robin.
The Joker, of Runcorn, Cheshire, admitted dangerous driving, driving while disqualified and driving without insurance.
He was stopped in Crewe, Cheshire, on February 8th riding a Kawasaki ZX1100 motorcycle despite being banned for 20 months at the May 2021 court case.

Officers tried to speak to him as he rode the bike but he continued on his way and later resorted to leaving the road.
Cheshire Police said: “He continued to ride towards Bradfield Road before mounting the pavement on Bradfield Road.
“Officers then arrested and subsequently charged Roberts with driving while disqualified, driving without insurance and dangerous driving.”
Court papers said custody was required as The Joker had “numerous convictions for similar” offences.
The Joker was again also disqualified from driving this time for a further 33 months and will be required to pass an extended retest.
District Judge Nicholas Sanders ordered he pay a victim surcharge of £128 and £85 in court costs by magistrates, who also seized the vehicle.
