A MAN was shot and a woman is in custody after an active barricade situation at a luxury hotel in Washington DC, police said.
After at least one shot was fired, police found a woman barricaded in a room at the Oriental Mandarin hotel with a wounded man, Metropolitan Police told the Sun.

The Oriental Mandarin hotel is only 1.3 miles from the Capitol building.
At around 8pm, officials responded to reports of a shooting incident.
Once they were on the scene, an active barricade was put in place.
The barricade ended after police arrested an adult female who was with a man who was suffering from a gunshot wound, officials said.

The injured man, who was conscious and breathing, was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
