Sinéad O’Connor death updates — Tributes pour in for Irish legend who died 18 months after son as cause remains unknown
IRISH legend Sinéad O’Connor has died at the age of 56, her family confirmed.
Fans and celebrities are taking to social media to pay tribute to the iconic singer and activist, who rose to fame after her heartwrenching cover of Prince’s Nothing Compares 2 U in 1990.
The Big Bang Theory star Mayim Bialik shared on Twitter: “Remembering the Iconic Sinead O’Connor. Her music changed the industry and her fierce fearlessness made a tremendous impression on my teenage years. She was ahead of her time in so many ways and gone far too soon. Rest in power, Sinead O’Connor.”
Actress Jamie Lee Curtis shared a memory with the late singer on Instagram and called her a “warrior” and a “rebel.”
Rapper Ice T added: “Respect to Sinead….. She stood for something… Unlike most people…. Rest Easy.”
She leaves behind three children. Shane Lunny, her fourth son, died last year at the age of 17.
Sinéad’s cause of death has yet to be released.
