$SP.00) is a smart animal for Kelly Schweida and should prove to be a leading contender. He placed in his opening two runs for the prep, two back behind the very smart Freedom Rally. He then ran three weeks ago, on the back up, and was strong to the line in winning when looking beaten, he found to fend them off. 1000m looks his go, good racing style, hard to beat.

5 Reliable Ruby (Bet Now: 
$SP.00) has been up a while for Chris Munce but is holding her form really well. She ran three weeks ago over 1110m at Doomben where she conceded a start but you had to like the way she finished her race off behind impressive winner and in form mare Inasec. I reckon a fast run 1000m at Eagle Farm will be ideal because the long straight will give her every chance to launch late.

2 Vainstream (Bet Now: 
$SP.00) is a very interesting runner. Formerly trained in Victoria under the care of John Pascoe but now finds himself with Mark Currie. His best form is certainly good enough to give this a shake and with two trials at Toowoomba under the belt, J think he’s ready to go, so I think watch the market and see what it does with him.

3 Kanazawa… (Bet Now: 
$SP.00) is he a thinker? I think we’ll get a definitive answer to that question here. He’s had two runs for O’Dea/Hoysted, placing each time. Latest was two weeks ago over 1300m here where he looked all over a winner when looming but couldn’t get past Hasten Delight and had to settle for a narrow second. His best has lengths on these…just a matter of whether he has the desire to put these away.

$SP.00) is third up from a spell and should just about be ready to go. She did more than enough fresh behind the very good Freedom Rally before going to 1300m two weeks back where she got back to near last in the run and was never a threat but did make up headway and was good in defeat. Hard fit now and she has enough quality to measure up.

7 Lately (Bet Now: 
$SP.00) is a Lee Freedman trained gelding that resumes. This guy is first up, having not raced since April 1 when placing over 1900m on the Gold Coast Poly. He is better suited over further but resuming in town I find interesting, so I think watch the market and see what it does, whether it says he’s ready or needing the run.

11 Gaius (Bet Now: 
$SP.00) is knocking on the door for Mark Currie. He has finished runner up his past two, two back here behind Rejoiced before going to Doomben a few weeks ago and kept finding the line in a strong effort behind Release The Beans. There is no horse of that quality here and he only has to hold his form to be around the mark.

$SP.00) is third up from a break and should just about be at peak fitness. He is three weeks between runs since racing over the mile at Doomben where I thought Orman gave him every chance near the speed. He was there to win the race but couldn’t quite finish it off when third to Seleque. Hard fit now and back on a track he prefers, he commands respect.

2 Hot Spring Gold (Bet Now: 
$SP.00) can settle much closer in the run and his best is good enough to threaten. He ran two weeks ago over 1400m here when getting decent wide cover from the gate and was there to threaten but didn’t finish the race off at all behind Canadian Dancer. If he gets a more economical run in transit, he’s good enough to take this out.

Race 4. (13:28) Stable Club (Bm78) 2206m

9 Philipsburg (Bet Now: 
$SP.00) is getting another look for me. I thought he was a good thing when racing over the mile last Saturday and after lobbing in a good spot behind the speed, I thought it was race over, but he didn’t have the turn of foot to go with them late but the end of his race was encouraging, racing like a horse wanting more ground. He gets that here and has the upside.

4 Carbonetti (Bet Now: 
$SP.00) has found winning form and he can certainly go on with it for Chris Waller. He was knocking on the door to win one but kept finding one or two better. That all changed a few weeks ago when winning over 2200m here. He was there to be beaten but he just kept finding and was strong to the line in winning. Off that, he is hard to beat.

2 Oz Legend (Bet Now: 
$SP.00) has the Waller polish and has to be respected. Bit on the plain side behind stablemate Carbonetti two back but ran a much improved race a fortnight back here when near the speed throughout and showed good grit under pressure but just found a couple better, finishing third to Intuitu. If he runs up to that effort here, he’ll take beating.

Race 5. (14:03) U&U Recruitment Partners-Bm90 1835m

Gee this could be good placement from Waller with 10 Tony Be (Bet Now: 
$SP.00). He ran over 2000m three weeks ago at Doomben where he got too far back and tried to make a long sustained run but couldn’t quite finish it off behind Chayse N Artie. Tumbles 7kg in the weights and maps to settle closer in the run, so each way, he’ll do me.

$SP.00) is flying for Team Sears and can certainly take this out. Big odds when winning two back over the mile at Doomben and proved that was no fluke when racing here two weeks back. He was desperately unlucky and I think you can make a case that if Lloyd got the split when probing, he goes close to beating Fast Talking. Like him up in trip and only has to hold his form to be around the mark.

3 Trevelyan (Bet Now: 
$SP.00) should appreciate a rise to 1800m. He was five weeks between runs when racing over the mile here a fortnight back. He just looked a bit rusty, in need of the run, and that’s how it panned out, but I did like the way he found the line behind Fast Talking. Much better set up this time around and has good upside to come.

Race 6. (14:38) Giddy Up Club Hcp (C6) 1200m

$SP.00) is yet to race at Eagle Farm but the way he finds the line and how genuine he is, he should be fine. Resumed at the midweeks at Doomben over 1110m where he looked in a bit trouble early on in the straight but he got the split and drove hard late to win. He’s got more upside than most, he’ll eat up 1200m…think he only runs well.

Back to 1200m I find interesting with 2 Safework (Bet Now: 
$SP.00). He ran over 1400m here a fortnight back where he got back to near last in the run and while he was never a threat, he did make up some headway and was far from disgraced in defeat behind in form mare Canadian Dancer. The depth here is nowhere near as strong and he’ll be stronger than most at the end.

I doubt 6 Zingalong (Bet Now: 
$SP.00) wins but he can fill a first four spot for Trevor Miller. He ran in the Orbisyn race from a few weeks back at Doomben when on speed from a tricky gate and tried hard but he couldn’t quite finish it off and felt the pinch late, beaten just over two lengths. Did run well at 1200m the start prior, and with his racing style, he’ll give himself every chance.

Race 7. (15:13) Encryption 1St Season Sire Hcp 1000m

$SP.00) will jump on the bunny and take running down. He hasn’t raced since July 1 when an all the way winner over this trip at the Sunny Coast. He was there to be run down but found under pressure to fend them off and win. He is a very good horse on the fresh side and with his racing pattern, he’ll give himself every chance.

$SP.00) is a son of Rubick for Mick Minervini that resumes. He hasn’t raced since March 11 in the Maurice McCarten when running third behind Cannonball, getting the suck run behind the speed and found the line well enough at Stakes level. Interesting he resumes without a trial but in a fast run 1000m, he’ll sit back and launch at them late.

7 Gemelon Bolt (Bet Now: 
$SP.00) is first up for Chris Anderson and is certainly dangerous. He produced somewhat of an end of prep run on April 29 at this track/distance when near the speed and had his chance but couldn’t quite finish it off behind Richon. He can sprint well fresh and with a sharp trial under the belt, I think he’s ready to go. Watch the market.

Race 8. (15:48) Sky Racing Hcp 1000m

O’Dea/Hoysted trained three year old that resumes after a two run Autumn prep, spanking them on debut over this trip at the Sunny Coast before going to the 2YO Jewel where he did too much work from the wide gate and tired late. Trialled up super at Deagon on Tuesday and maps to do no work in the run. Hard to beat.

$SP.00) is a potential jet. Son of Spieth for Joshua King that comes to town off the back of a dominant debut win over 1000m at the Sunny Coast, producing sustained speed from the front and giving nothing else a look in, winning quite comfortably and running fast time. Good test here against some likely types but he is indeed a likely type IMO.

1 Miss Coota (Bet Now: 
$SP.00) is a Spirit Of Boom filly for Chris Munce that resumes. This girl is first up, having not raced since the Magic Millions at the Gold Coast where she found the race a bit hot and was never a factor behind Skirt The Law. Trialled well enough to my eye last week and I do think short course racing is her go in life so 1000m here suits.

Race 9. (16:27) Ladbrokes Hub (Bm70) 1600m

$SP.00) has done a pretty good job in two runs for Jack Bruce after formerly being with Godolphin. He ran over the mile at Doomben last time at the midweeks where he got a fair way out of his ground and while he was never a threat, he did make up good headway behind Kronenbourg. If he can settle closer in the run, he’ll take beating.

$SP.00) is a two time winner at the trip and strikes a winnable race for Matty Dunn. He ran two weeks ago over 1400m here when just off the speed and was there to be some sort of threat but lacked the change up speed to go with them late when beaten just under five lengths by a very good horse, Freedom Rally. Hard fit and up in trip, I think he appeals.

2 Namakwa (Bet Now: 
$SP.00) has good upside to come and his best is good enough to be dangerous. He resumed over 1350m at Ipswich where he was wide early before eventually slotting in but the early burn told late and was never really a factor behind Olympic Legend. Much better set up this time around and is a previous second up winner, so don’t dismiss him.
