OSCARS fans are fuming after Hulu suffered a massive technical glitch that stopped thousands from watching Hollywood’s biggest night.

Many users of the streaming platform completely missed the first hour of the 97th annual Academy Awards as the feed did not work for at-home viewers.

Hulu subscribers across the country who tried to tune into the Oscars on Sunday night were met with a blank white screen.

Others complained that they were met with pixelated images or forced to log out and log back in – only to be logged out repeatedly again.

According to DownDetector, over 35,000 people reported experiencing the technical glitch – a number that continues to grow as the problem remains unsolved.

While the live stream appeared to work for the red carpet, it went down for many just before the actual ceremony.

Fans are furious about the technical glitch – with many even demanding a refund from the media conglomerate. 

“Hulu owes me a damn refund right about now. All that advertisement about streaming the #Oscars2025, only for the site to not work,” one person tweeted. 

“Just to recap: Hulu streamed a red carpet program with no problem, then instead of going into the Oscars went immediately into an episode of 20/20, and then crashed and made it impossible to watch the Academy Awards. Great job,” a critic raged.

“Hulu is not working, keeps saying i’m not at my home location. Pretty expensive service to be this inept,” another complained. 

“I’d love to watch The Oscars, but your app that I’ve been paying for all these years isn’t working.

“Logged me out, won’t let me even get to the screen where I can try to log in again, and just keep telling me, ‘Error occurred.’ Do better, Hulu,” one more said. 

The backlash continued to spread – resulting in Hulu responding to angry viewers and being forced to apologize.

“Please know that you’re not alone, and we’ve got all hands on deck working to resolve this. Getting you back to your shows is our top priority! We’re on it,” the Hulu X account said to one upset subscriber.

“Apologies for the trouble! We’ve got all hands on deck working to get this behavior cleared up, and we appreciate your patience in the meantime,” the account said to another.

Just a few hours earlier, Hulu boasted about live-streaming the program, which airs on ABC, which is also owned by the same parent company, Disney.

“Hulu will be live streaming the 97th Oscars® Ceremony and the red carpet show for all Hulu subscribers in the US!

“If you can’t catch the livestream, we’ve got you covered,” they wrote before the technical disaster struck.

Those who were unable to tune into the show when it began at 7 p.m. ET missed the emotional opening Wicked medley.

Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo brought both attendees and those who could watch from home to tears after performing a trio of songs from The Wizard of Oz, The Wiz, and Wicked.

Ariana, 31, opened the performance with a tender version of Judy Garland’s Somewhere Over the Rainbow from the original 1939 film.

Cynthia, 38, then entered the stage and began to sing the ballad “Home” from The Wiz, a 1978 movie starring Michael Jackson and Diana Ross.

The pair ended the number with a powerful live duet of Defying Gravity. 

Just before Cynthia nailed the Defying Gravity rift that famously ends the song, Ariana kissed her hand and ran to the side of the stage as she watched her co-star on with admiration.
