BAFTA winning comedy drama Cold Feet returns to our screens on Monday September 5.

It’s been 13 years since we last caught up with the lives of the much-loved characters Adam, Pete, Jenny, Karen and David.

And our favourites, played by James Nesbitt, Fay Ripley, Hermione Norris, John Thomson and Robert Bathurst will be reunited when Adam returns to Manchester after working abroad.

And there isn’t long to wait because the first episode of the new series will be screened at 9pm on September 5 on ITV1.

The nation’s love affair with Cold Feet began in 1997 when we were first introduced to the friends and couples and their interwoven stories.

Cold Feet, as one of the UK’s most popular comedy dramas, won numerous awards for its truthful depiction of friendships, relationships, parenthood and love.

In the new series we will rejoin the characters in 2016 with stories written and conceived by Mike Bullen.

In June the stars celebrated the end of filming on the long-awaited new series with wrap party dinner at Artisan in Spinningfields.

They were spotted shooting scenes in and around Manchester since February after ITV bosses confirmed the much-loved comedy drama would return for a new eight-part series.

Set in Didsbury, the tale of three 30-something couples – Adam and Rachel, Pete and Jenny and David and Karen – originally ran for 33 episodes and five series from 1998 to 2003, including the sudden and shocking death of Rachel, played by Helen Baxendale.

The new series will pick up with the characters now pushing 50.

Speaking previously said about the show’s comeback, creator Mike said: “This feels like the right time to revisit these characters, as they tip-toe through the minefield of middle age. They’re 50, but still feel 30, apart from on the morning after the night before, when they really feel their age.

“They’ve still got lots of life to look forward to, though they’re not necessarily the years one looks forward to!”

One of its most famous scenes, in the pilot episode screened in 1997, showed Adam, played by James Nesbitt, attempting to woo Rachel wearing nothing but a rose clenched between his buttocks.
