We’ll call it the Walsall wallaby.

This is very much not Australia (Picture: SWNS)

A blind wallaby decided a dual carriageway in Walsall would be a good place to sit.

The 2.5ft tall animal blocked traffic as it staged its sit-in, eight miles from Birmingham and 9,400 miles from its native Australia.

It managed to escape from Oak Tree Farm in Staffordshire, then hopped four miles to get to the road where it seemingly decided to try and hitch hike.

Thankfully, it escaped injury on the 50mph road and was rescued by the RSPCA, who were probably as surprised as everyone else to see it chilling on the tarmac.
