In another equally stunning post, complete with coronary heart emojis, Hitchener commented that he “looked fresh” and “felt the best I’ve ever been”.
‘Love life to the maximum!’ the 77-year-old exclaimed. “I won’t stop until I quit.”
A TV spokesperson told Daily Mail Australia that Hitchener’s now-deleted posts had been strange.
“It doesn’t look good,” the offer said.
The unusual messages seem to have returned in response to the opinion part which ran in Melbourne’s Sunday Herald Sun.
The article, written by recreation guru Fiona Byrne, suggested that Hitchener should leave with grace and pay his “heir to the throne”.
That heiress is none other than newsreader Alicia Locksley from Melbourne.
Locksley has been a respected member of Nine’s information staff for some years now.
In previous years, she has had her ears in the mud, knocking on the doors of both murder victims and criminals.

Peter Hitchener (pictured) has rubbished speculation that he is set to leave Channel Nine News. The 77-year-old, who is celebrating 50 years with the community, was worried this week that stories of his retirement have been greatly exaggerated.

Loxley has taken his spot in Hitchener on Fridays and weekends at 6pm hosts Nine Afternoon News at 4pm on Mondays and Tuesdays and Nine News First at Five, a national afternoon bulletin, at 5pm at weekends.
According to business insider information No less than two years earlier, Locksley had been named as a possible alternative to Hitchener.
Hitchener, who is celebrating 50 years with the society, said this week that he believed stories of his retirement were “grossly exaggerated”.
“To be clear, the first I heard about my so-called retirement was reading about it this afternoon on @theheraldsun,” he wrote on Instagram after Byrne’s statement went online.
“It’s a great honor and privilege to deliver the news and I look forward to doing so for a few more years.”
This publication noticed that Hitchener has been inundated with love from all over the world, including Airborne messages from troublesome rockers from Serbia on his web page.
“Wherever we are, the only place we trust our news is yours,” the group wrote.
‘Mighty Hitch! Using NineNow and a VPN from locations all the way to the Serbian border, we stream your warm, reassuring and informative voice into our tour bus. Thanks Hitch!
In 2021, the experienced newsreader again took a step from providing information full-time.
In a press release to Daily Mail Australia, a consultant for Channel Nine confirmed that Hitchener could be reduced to 4 days each week.
In April that year, Hitchener changed his well-being after being taken off air midway through Channel Nine’s 6pm Melbourne Information bulletin.
He raised questions after stumbling over his lines due to a migraine on March 29, prompting producers to quickly revert to pre-recorded narration.
Hitchener insured The newspaper the sun that “everything is fine” along with his well-being, confirming that he is taking care of himself more than ever because of the on-air incident.

“I’m feeling really good now and I’m making sure I’m drinking a lot of water,” he previously mentioned before confirming that he had visited the hospital as a precaution.
Hitchener, who then quickly returned to work, added that he had only recently suffered from migraines.
“It was the first time it was broadcast and I hope it never happens again,” he mentioned.
Shortly after the footage aired, Nine issued a press statement to claim he was suffering from a migraine.
Hitchener has been forced to endure much more trouble after being linked to an alleged stalker who claimed he was married to a news anchor.
Codey James Mulcahy, 22, of Werribee, is due to face 26 unrelated charges of stalking and assault at Werribee Magistrates’ Court next week.
Last year, Mulcahy opened up about his divorce from Hitchener on social media.
“Just an update, Peter and I are married and divorced,” he mentioned.
Mulcahy claimed for months that he was married to Hitchener, who came out as gay here in 2008.
Mulcahy has shared no fewer than three pictures of herself with Hitchener: two during studio tours and another, which appears to have been taken outside Melbourne’s Her Majesty’s Theatre, of where Hitchener’s physique has been cut in half.
Channel Nine insiders have told Daily Mail Australia that Mulcahy’s claims about Hitchener are completely false.
“They are a figment of his imagination,” the supplier said.
